New to the collection, and available in Powder Pink, Baby Blue, Navy and Forest Green, a classic favourite from the 1940s, this fabulous Cable Knit Slipover is just perfect for complimenting any classic trouser styles. Knitted in replica ‘Orlon’ which was developed originally by Du Pont in 1941 as a substitute for wool, it is free of any animal products. This gorgeous slipover was worn by many Hollywood movie stars like Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich and many others.

A classic favourite from the 1940s, this fabulous Cable Knit Slipover is just perfect for complimenting any classic trouser styles. Knitted in replica ‘Orlon’ which was developed originally by Du Pont in 1941 as a substitute for wool, it is free of any animal products. This stunning slipover was worn by many Hollywood movie stars like Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich and many others.
The Seamstress of Bloomsbury garments are made from the finest quality fabrics, featuring intricate and authentic designs straight from our vintage archive. Their collection is inspired by the work of a dear friend and original ‘Seamstress of Bloomsbury’, Lilian Wells, who made the most exquisite garments for aristocrats and royalty from around the world in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. Most of their designs are named after the lovely ladies who Lilian made the garments for, so you’ll have a small part of history in each of your garments!

Washing Instructions:
To wash this garment, we recommend to hand wash the garment just as they did back in the 1940’s, although nowadays you can dry clean them instead if you wish.
Best not to dry them in direct sunlight or in an excessively hot place, as this can cause the natural yarn to twist and subsequently shrink.
